Description

Queen Elizabeth's Girls' School in Barnet, North London is a very successful 11-18 girls' comprehensive school and converter academy. The School is proud to be 1 of the oldest state girls' schools in the country (established 1888). The history and tradition enriches school life, as does the diversity of the local community we serve.

We have high standards and high expectations and we aim to help each and every student to succeed. The school aims to develop confident, independent, flexible, self-disciplined and considerate young women. The girls have opportunities in and beyond the classroom to develop their academic, sporting, creative and leadership qualities. Queen Elizabeth's Girls' School is a vibrant and exciting learning community of which all are proud to be a part.

The tender project is seeking to appoint a contractor whose initiative and innovation will be welcomed for the provision of cleaning services within the facilities for the school. The high-quality service levels proposed, should maintain excellent standards throughout, resulting in a pleasant environment for both the pupils and staff.

The basis and rationale that the Client requires the successful contractor to operate to at all times, is being able to provide a School that is fit for purpose and that the Contractor is proactive in the management of the contract, thus ensuring that all specifications are achieved and that the frequency of cleans is as detailed within the Tender Specification.

It should be noted that the successful contractor will be expected to bring to the contract: innovation, new equipment and cleaning methods, with BICSc standards being achieved, as a minimum, thus ensuring that the highest levels of cleanliness are maintained in all areas at all times and also ensuring that the productivity of the cleaning operatives is enhanced moving forward into the new contract term.

At present 24 cleaning operatives are employed to work approximately 1 100 hours per month, predominantly early mornings and late afternoons, 1 manager is available for 4 hours during the day, Monday to Friday. There are also some weekend cleaning requirements (2 hours per day on Saturday and Sunday). The School are open to new suggestions around the timings of the cleaning staff provision compared to the current provision.

The current incumbent is Servest.

There may be incumbent members of cleaning staff who are members of the LGPS, however, the current incumbent was unable to provide this information.

The value of the current contract: 138 000 GBP per annum (115 000 GBP excluding VAT).
