Description

The Laboratory of Molecular Biology (LMB) requires the renewal of our maintenance agreements/ service contracts for two Waters mass spectrometers, including associated chromatographic peripherals and MassLynx software. This service agreement will be for one year and includes one scheduled PM visit per year, including any repair & maintenance when required.

This contract is to cover the LMB's existing Xevo G2 Q-TOF & LCT systems. Both these systems are critical to the support of the LMB research programme. These instruments are used on a daily basis and it is therefore essential that they operate without any downtime. We require a Servicing and Maintenance plan, which can provide continued preventative maintenance and service support.
Biological Mass Spectrometry and Proteomics
Mass spectrometry based proteomic experiments have become an important tool for studying biological systems. The goal of the Biological Mass Spectrometry & Proteomics Laboratory is to implement state of the art mass spectrometric techniques in order to provide scientists at the LMB with the capabilities to identify, characterise and quantify proteins present in a particular network, pathway, organelle, cell or tissue. The laboratory principally employs electrospray ionization mass spectrometry as the key technology for both qualitative and quantitative characterisation of proteins.
