Description
The Authority is looking for the following information:
The user requires a Marine Marker to replace the existing Float Smoke Flame N2 Mk4 to provide a maritime marking capability. It will need to be operated on all Royal Navy aviation capable vessels and specific aircrafts and will need to interface with current and future ship infrastructure. The Marine Marker must be able to:
o Produce orange smoke for increased visibility in adverse conditions with a minimum duration of 4 mins or a desired duration of 8 mins.
o Be able to be operated by a single person.
o The User shall be able to make the nature safe after it has been armed.
o Can operate in sea state 6 or 50kts wind speed (whichever is higher).
o Be able to Integrate into current platforms. The current sizing is 381mm long, 83mm in diameter.
o Sinking is favourable to reduce potential interaction with personnel and reduces visible impact.
o Easy to operate and no FOD to be produced. If FOD is produced, please advise on the specifics.
o Must fit in Ammunition Container Assembly (A1324/C190 Mk1)
o Does not affect the airworthiness of any aircraft system.
o Able to operate under more severe ground-based climatic environment limitations as the aircraft. (180kts, 400ft above water)
o All weather conditions should include consideration of service cold weather gloves.
o Capability complies with the below legislation:
1. UK law.
2. International law.
3. Other legislation if applicable to specific aircraft platforms.
Can you confirm that you are able to supply the above as an off the shelf item and if so, can you provide a Rough Order of Magnitude cost?
If you cannot supply off the shelf, do you the technical capability to support a development programme?
