Description
Two individual elements of the lift system in the Solid State Phased Array Radar (SSPAR) at RAF Fylingdales have been identified as requiring attention. The lift ropes, although nominally possessing a ten-year life, have been identified during two previous annual inspections as experiencing accelerated wear. Internal lighting within the lift shaft is also unreliable, and does not provide sufficient illumination to work safely. As these components continue to degrade, any failure of an inspection will result in loss of use of the lift. This will have major impact on facilitation of routine maintenance and project work.
The successful contractor will undertake the following tasks:
1. Renew the lift ropes and upgrade the lift shaft lighting within the SSPAR.
