Description

Bath and North East Somerset Council (BANES) wish to appoint a civils contractor to undertake enabling works at Bath Western Riverside development site. The works comprise the formation of a new embankment and retaining wall. The works will be carried out over and adjacent to an operational gas infrastructure requiring a highly experienced civils contractor.

The enabling works are contained within the red line boundary associated with planning approval granted under 18/02857/FUL*.

The enabling works within this tender enquiry comprise:

• the demolition of existing perimeter walls;
• the erection of permanent hoarding, which will be retained upon completion of the works;
• the removal of scrub and remaining tree roots within the site boundary;
• the grading of existing ground levels to form a new embankment;
• the installation of gabion basket to allow levels to be formed;
• the management and co-ordination of the disconnection of existing utilities (namely the WPD electrical disconnections which have been pre-ordered by BANES);
• the discharge planning conditions 1-8;
• the construction of a retaining wall and the formation of levels either side of the newly constructed wall;
• the management of all highway issues, including street lighting; and
• the co-ordination and management with Wales and West Utilities of a temporary gas link diversion which will allow the retaining wall to be constructed. (Noting the gas re-diversion works will be carried out by Wales and West Utilities).
