Description

NHS Coastal West Sussex CCG Integrated Urgent Care Market Engagement Event

CWS CCG recognises that helping people with urgent care needs to get the right advice in the right place, is the primary driver for providing high quality care for people presenting with both physical and mental health needs. The current system is often fragmented with significant duplication. Connecting all urgent and emergency services, especially those providing face to face encounters has been recognised as key, with the overall system becoming more than just a sum of its parts.

CWS CCG therefore intends to commission a local 24hr integrated urgent care service that meets the needs of our population by integrating GP Extended Access, Urgent Treatment Centres (UTC), Out of Hours Face to Face and Visiting Service.

In addition, the integrated urgent care model will address the national mandate to transform urgent care within CWS and ensure it is delivered in an efficient and seamless way. This will be through local health care professionals who are able to flex across working boundaries and deliver quality care for our local population through single point of access of the Sussex 111/ Clinical Assessment Service.

The Commissioners envisage that the term will match that of the current 111 procurement, i.e. 5 years (this is subject to change through the market engagement process and will only be finalised when any contract notice is issued). The contract value is estimated to be £5m per annum, so for the duration of the contract 5 years x £5m per annum = £25m total contract value.

NHS CWS CCG would like to invite you to our market engagement event where we will provide further detail on our Integrated Urgent Care Model including:

• A walk through of the model, which includes 2 UTCs collocated with the A&E Departments at Worthing and St Richards Hospitals
• How the data has influenced our thinking
• Interfaces with Sussex 111 and the Clinical Assessment Service
• The importance of IT
