Description

The Education & Skills Funding Agency requires a suitably experienced contractor to install new modular single storey general teaching buildings at Merstham Park School for use as temporarily occupation in September 2018. The temporary accommodation will be suitable for 360 secondary school pupils and consist of approximately 16 classrooms with associated toilet and administration spaces.

Merstham Park school is a proposed new build 900 pupil Secondary school for 11-16 years old subject to planning application consent. It is proposed to open the school in temporary accommodation in September 2018.

The construction work will be procured directly by the Education & Skills Funding Agency and managed by their appointed Technical Advisor, Mace Ltd. The work will be contracted under a JCT Design & Build Contract.

The Contractor will be procured on a two-stage full design and build basis. In addition to the temporary accommodation and associated ground works the works will include building a new access road from the entrance to the temporary accommodation with a sufficient parking for 41no. cars along route, alterations to boundary/fencing, installation of building services and external landscaping.

The temporary planning application will be submitted by a third party and will not form part of this contract.

The target construction programme for installation is from early April to mid-August 2018.The contracting authority considers that this contract may be suitable for economic operators that are small or medium enterprises (SMEs). However, any selection of tenderers will be based solely on the criteria set out for the procurement. The contract will be awarded on the basis of the following split: Qualitative assessment (50%) / Quantitative assessment (50%).
