Description

Arden & GEM Commissioning Support Unit on behalf of NHS Rushcliffe Clinical Commissioning Group would like to gauge market interest in opening a new AQP (Any Qualified Provider) window for their Provision of an MSK Physiotherapy Service for the remainder of the contract period, to end March 2019.

This is an established AQP physiotherapy advice and guidance service for patients registered with a Rushcliffe CCG practice. Currently this community service is provided by 7 local physiotherapy companies.

The aim of the service is to provide a high quality physiotherapy assessment, advice and guidance service, which is convenient and accessible for patients and one that demonstrates value for money. It will support patients to manage their conditions and provide clinical information to other clinics when onward management is required.

The conditions covered by this service are common musculoskeletal disorders including, but not exclusively, back, neck and joint dysfunction and minor soft tissues injuries.

The service objectives are:

• To give patients a choice of provider
• To provide improved access to services closer to home
• To provide community services that have a strong emphasis on patient education and self-management, thereby promoting active, healthy lifestyles and reducing recurrence of injury or illness.

Patients are referred via their GP and the service provides:

1. An initial assessment to include diagnosis and exercise prescription, treatment may be administered if appropriate
2. One follow up session to ensure that they are following the advice and guidance.

Should interest be shown, the Commissioners may open a new window, which will take place no later than January 2018.
