Description

2980.514.CS.NAMRC.21 Fixture Development

The University of Sheffield wishes to invite tenders for a SUBJECT MATTER on behalf of the Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre, Castings Group at Catcliffe, South Yorkshire.

Scope of Requirement

Nuclear AMRC are studying manufacturing technology improvements to simplify the method of manufacture of Intermediate Level Waste (ILW) containers, which will ultimately lead to the products being made as efficiently as possible (keeping the costs to a minimum for both the NDA and the UK taxpayer).
As part of this study jigs / fixtures are required to support laser welding trials and preproduction activities. The jigs / fixtures have been identified as key enablers and therefore this tender is for the design and make package of work.
The fixtures shall be of a prototype nature to prove the concept design works and the process is capable. A short pilot build of 5-10 units will be performed using the fixtures.
The fixtures will be used onsite at NAMRC and shall interface with the "Cyan Tec Disk Laser Cell". Details of the cell can be made available on request.
