Description

The main aim of this contract is to procure suppliers to support BEIS in identifying a comprehensive programme of work to test and demonstrate the safety, technical feasibility, consumer impacts and consumer acceptability of using hydrogen in place of natural gas for heating at scale. BEIS are working with industry partners and key stakeholders to define the elements of a programme of work which would enable the safety and feasibility of transitioning the gas networks and consumer heating appliances for use with hydrogen, the changes this would involve for consumers and other impacts, and public attitudes to be assessed objectively.
