Description

Thurrock Council is planning to go out to tender to appoint a service which provides day opportunities specifically for people experiencing mental health difficulties.

Day opportunities are a means of supporting adults with additional needs to improve their wellbeing, by engaging in purposeful activities outside of their home. This has the additional benefit of providing respite to unpaid carers.

The service will provide opportunities for clients to develop social networks, participate in the local community and to take up universal services in Thurrock.

The provider will deliver solutions to meet the individuals desired outcomes and will recognise and facilitate the diverse needs within the client group. For some this will mean more specialised and intensive support whilst for others it will involve a facilitated group. The provider must recognise Thurrock Councils commitment to providing tailored and person-centred solutions.
