Description
Northamptonshire County Council invites quotations for the provision of a mobile property flood resilience (PFR) demonstration unit to support community and business engagement delivery for the Ox-Cam Property Flood Resilience Pathfinder Project. The aim of the Pathfinder Projects is to enhance future take-up of flood resilience measures in properties and to influence the industry to incorporate PFR as business as usual. The Pathfinders will carry out a varied and complex program of work, targeting a range of actors, seeking outcomes and impacts related to commercial processes as well as behaviour change and physical changes to buildings. The evaluation will provide evidence about what in this complex picture matters most in achieving this aim. The evidence gathered will inform future property level resilience interventions and provide the potential to roll out the successful concepts. The Ox-Cam PFR Project, which will run until April 2021, covers the Oxford-Cambridge Arc area as defined by MHCLG The mobile unit will be used to engage communities at risk of flooding to raise their awareness of flood risk and to educate them about the options available to them in protecting their residential or commercial properties and making them more resilient to flooding. There is a myriad of simple construction/DIY measures that can be carried out to make a property more resilient to flooding and a wealth of flood protection products that can be installed. However, many people within these communities remain unaware of these options. This unit is envisioned as a mobile facility with some of these measures installed as a way of demonstrating them physically. This will be complimented by visual presentations in the form of projections, printed information displays and leaflets/booklets as well as face-to-face training and education initiatives by a team of representatives. The face-to-face training and education will be provided by other individuals and it is not expected that the contractor will be required to be present during these engagement events. However information on the products installed will be required. For more information and to register your interest and apply for the opportunity, visit www.lgssprocurementportal.co.uk
