Description

Nottingham CityCare Partnership has been awarded Big Lottery Fund grant of 45 000 000 GBP to lead the delivery of SSBC over 10 years. The programme will focus on four of Nottingham's wards - Arboretum, Aspley, Bulwell, St. Ann's.

SSBC will work with pregnant women, mothers, families, health professionals and a wide range of partner agencies to position parenting at its heart as a primary public health issue. It will build on the intrinsic motivation of prospective parents to be the best parents they can be and capture this key 'teachable moment' to prepare and support parents to achieve the best outcomes for their children.

Family Mentors are at the core of SSBC - central to our values and our commitment to co-production with local communities. They will be a peer workforce of parents or grandparents who understand the needs, challenges and aspirations of families in the SSBC wards. They will walk alongside families - working in partnership with existing workforce, focusing on the A Better Start trilogy of child development outcomes. They will be supported and guided by professionals, taking SSBC activities into family homes and co-delivering group sessions and activities in the community.

SSBC are now beginning the procurement of Family Mentors for St Ann's and Arboretum and as part of the process the SSBC team are hosting an information event at

Nottingham Community Voluntary Service, 7 Mansfield Road, Nottingham, NG1 3FB

on

Wednesday 2nd December 2015 - 10am - 12pm.

Harnessing our experience from the successful tendering process used to appoint a provider for the delivery of phase 1 (Bulwell and Aspley) we would like to invite organisations and consortia to this event that are interested in being part of this exciting opportunity to improve outcomes for Nottingham's children.

The event will consist of a presentation that will give an overview of SSBC, the key points of the service specification and the ITT. There will be an opportunity to gather information and ask questions about the Family Mentor service and the Procurement process.

There will be a nine week period between launch of the ITT, which we anticipate will be on 7th December 2015 and the submission deadline (8th February 2016). We propose to advertise this contract in a variety of publications including the official journal of the European Union (Voluntary notice), Contracts Finder, Source Nottingham and via the Local CVS. If you wish to attend this event please email david.bailey@ardengemcsu.nhs.uk to confirm your attendance by 30th November 2015. Please feel free to pass this email onto any interested colleagues. We look forward to seeing to seeing you on the 2nd December.
