Description

The Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea Council (referred to as RBKC, the Council or the "Authority") has issued this request for a quotation ('RFQ') 'The Route to Carbon Neutral and Development of RBKC Climate Emergency Action Plan/Vision Carbon Zero' with the aim to commission an experienced supplier/consultant (a single firm or a consortium headed by a single practice acting as lead consultant) to create an evidence based road map and model pathways to carbon neutrality (for both the Council as an organisation by 2030 and for the borough by 2040).

This will underpin the development of a new comprehensive Climate Emergency Action Plan and support with shaping the Vision Carbon Zero in response to RBKC' climate emergency declaration.

The study will help the Council understand what needs to happen: from the pace of change/scale of intervention and major transformations required to achieve the carbon neutral targets; the financial implications/level of investment; the type of climate change interventions and different scenarios; the priority actions that bring co-benefits for the community and the wider environmental sustainability ambitions; and whether we can accelerate climate action as part of recovery from COVID19.
