Description
Over the last few years the University's approach to the management and commercialisation of Intellectual Property (IP) has been largely reactive, due in part, to a limited availability of resource and in-house expertise. The University therefore is looking for IP management and support services to further support its increased focus on the impact of research activities.
It is recognised that more robust processes and management of IP related activities are required to strengthen and increase the University's IP portfolio, realise commercial potential, maximise revenue generation and aid the achievement of the University future ambitions as set out in its strategic plan.
As such the University wishes to explore the potential to outsource its Intellectual Property Management and Support requirements to capitalise on external expertise and improve all aspects of the University's IP position.
Tenderers are invited to tender for the provision of IP Management and Support Services at the University of Lincoln. The successful tenderer must have recent experience of IP within a Higher Education environment.
The Contract will run for a period of two years on a one plus one year basis, commencing 4th April 2018. There will be no further extensions available.
The successful Consultant shall be integral to the Research and Industrial Partnerships team and work as an extension of this team in providing a central service to the University which will complement the team's other services.
The Consultant's main point of contact shall be with the team's Contracts and Intellectual Property Officer, supported by the Industrial Partnerships Manager.
