Description

NOTE: This notice was updated on 24 February 2020 for the following reason: Extension to closing date, the closing date is now noon Wednesday 4th March 2020(Following an enhanced compartmentation survey of the Shirehall building a large number of remedial works items have been identified. These works are presented, in part, in this tender to be completed by the successful tendering contractor.

These tender documents include an excerpt from the compartmentation survey detailing the items relevant to this tender. Please note the works exclude fire door and frame replacements which have been omitted from the schedule and this tender. You should provide a tender price for ALL the items presented in the attached excerpt of the compartmentation survey "2020.02 Works Schedule".

This tender includes for remedial works to the 759 items of general fire stopping to be addressed works including remedial works to ceiling void compartmentation.

All fire stopping reinstatement is to be undertaken by an accredited (by UKAS approved certifying body) Passive Fire Protection installer as per mandatory criteria outlined in section 3.3a below.

Proposals for remedial works and materials are to be submitted with the tender and approved prior to completing works on site.

Completed fire stopping items should be self-certified, documented and labelled by the qualified installing contractor.

All fire stopping reinstatement should be undertaken by an accredited Passive Fire Protection installer. Whilst remedies have been identified in the survey, the accredited installer should identify the most appropriate means of fire stopping. Where intumescent mastic seals have been identified the accredited installer should ensure that both sides of the penetration have been reinstated.

The items are detailed on "2020.02 Works Schedule" with locations illustrated on drawings 001.100.214.A80-85

The tender also includes for installation of new cavity barriers to the ceiling void where the spacings of the existing barriers exceeds the required 20m. These locations are detailed on drawings 001.100.214.A90-95)
