Description

Tenders are invited for an organisation to act on behalf of the Council's Events Team (the Council) to provide the creative format, scheduling, production and installation for the Beacon Lighting 2018 event to celebrate the end of World War 1 which will take place on Sunday 11th November 2018 between 6.00pm - 7.00pm at Cathedral Green, Colmore Row, Birmingham B3 2QB.

This process seeks to appoint a specialist who has the ability to deliver and experience in the production and installation of events, with particular knowledge in delivering heritage World War I events. The organisation will work alongside the Council's Events Team and Lord Mayor's Office to ensure the successful delivery of the event.

The Council's Events Team (BCCET) support and deliver a diverse portfolio of cultural and sporting events that enhances the image and reputation of Birmingham. By generating positive media exposure, it makes an economic impact, promotes diversity & community cohesion and improves the lives of Birmingham's citizens.

The successful organisation of the WW1 Beacon of Light 2018 event will be required to:
• Design, produce, administer and market the event within the total budget of £55,000
• Have responsibility for the Health and Safety for the event including the installation, production and de-rig for the event
• Attend all Steering Group and Safety Advisory Group meetings.

Tenders should note:
• engagement of the military
• engagement should take place with community groups, schools and educational providers.
• support marketing and communication costs
• monitor and report on the success of the project
• Birmingham Remembers 14-18 must be engaged on the proposals
