Description

Pre-Market Engagement: Design, supply, installation, operation and maintenance of electric vehicle charging points

Guy's and St Thomas' is one of the largest Foundation Trusts in the country, our sites being St Thomas' Hospital, Royal Brompton Hospital, Evelina London Children's Hospital, Guy's Hospital, Harefield Hospital and community services in Lambeth and Southwark. The Trust employs around 22,000 staff. In addition, the Trust works closely with King's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust and other trusts from the South East London Integrated Care System (SEL ICS), which the scope of this work might well extend to.

In June 2021, Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust (the Trust) launched its Sustainability strategy 2021-2031. This includes the aim to reach net zero carbon emissions from our own fleet (cars, vans, and a range of patient transport vehicles) by 2031.

The trust currently has a core fleet of some 240 vehicles (60 minibuses, 80 vans, 100 cars excluding salary sacrifice and grey fleet) the majority of which currently use petrol or diesel. The Trust also has visitor car parks at most of its sites.

Following a full review of the Trust's vehicle fleet as well as preliminary work into on-site power capacity, the Trust now wishes to engage with the market and gather intelligence, which will inform its electric vehicle charge point procurement strategy. The Trust is likely to be looking for an end-to-end solution, which includes the design, supply, installation, operation and maintenance of electric vehicle charge points on its sites.

The approach is likely to be phased, with phase 1 including 6-8 priority sites of strategic and operational importance with future sites across the Trust and the wider ICS to be added in the following phases.
