Description

Dorset HealthCare University NHS Foundation Trust seeks market engagement to inform and support the potential procurement of a School Immunisation System.

The Digitisation of School Nursing Immunisations Project looks to replace current manual processes with an electronic system to support all aspects of the Schools Immunisation service, including:
•Scheduling of all immunisations sessions and their associated events
•Collection of information from parents via an online form
•Pre-clinic assessment including filtering of completed forms
•Real-time monitoring at school level
•Creation of electronic clinic lists
•Data capture at immunisation sessions
•Import of data into clinical system (Systm One) including records matching
•Automation of various processes e.g. communications with schools and parents, vaccine ordering

Immunisation covers the following vaccines:
• Flu Immunisations
• Men/ACWY-meningitis and septicaemia
• DTP- diphtheria, tetanus toxoids and pertussis
• HPV- Human Papilloma Virus

It is expected that the project will deliver improvements measured against the following objectives:
•Quality of care
•Patient satisfaction
•Integrated Care
•Staff Productivity
•Staff satisfaction
•Cost Optimisation
•Revenue enhancement
•Management information


The scope of the project includes:

•All schools in Dorset Approx 300 +
•All relevant school nurses or other Trust staff 60+
•Primary immunisation to be deployed on an academic term time basis.
•Proposed deployment ready for autumn term 2019.

Future development: once immunisation has concluded, other Services are potential candidates for inclusion. Core reference data (e.g. locations) and functionality (e.g. pupil lists) could be extended in a modular fashion to other appropriate Services.

Technical: system will need to integrate with relevant Trust EPR's.

Commercial: Contract length likely to be an initial 3 yrs. with possible renewal. Value of contract for the lifetime of the project including support & maintenance likely to be in £100k+
