Description
This is a Contract Award Notice to communicate a contract award made by the Contracting Authority; Suffolk and North East Essex Integrated Care Board, (hereinafter referred to as "the Authority") in compliance with their local standing financial instructions (SFIs).
Following a three-month extension from 1st April - 30th June 2023, the Authority, are seeking a further waiver to extend this service for an additional nine-month period from 1st July 2023 - 31st March 2024.
The pilot undertaken within Primary Care, supported by non-recurrent Primary Care funding for 22/23, has undergone a full evaluation at the end of the pilot period, reviewing outcomes against need to determine future commissioning requirements. The initial outcome of the evaluation identified the need to secure ongoing provision of this service in response to General Practice needs.
Over recent months, with increasing pressures being faced across local General Practice and the NEE Alliance, it has been highlighted that there is a need for a further review of commissioned General Practice resilience offers. To this end, funding has been allocated to a Resilience and Sustainability Programme in North East Essex to work in collaboration with system partners to create a local offer for General Practice which is fit for purpose to respond to challenges faced now and (as far as possible) into the future to secure continuing high quality care for patients.
The Sustainability and Resilience Programme will aim to deliver a menu of support that will be available to Practices to respond to challenges, and undertake quality improvement to support increased sustainability and resilience, ensuring Practice teams are best placed to respond to challenges faced now and into the future, and secure continuing high quality care for patients.
The Authority recognise that they are unable to develop this offer in isolation and that the knowledge of what is needed to best support General Practice to increase sustainability and resilience sits within General Practice and General Practice support networks such as the Local Medical Committee. It is on this basis that the Authority will be setting out to engage with system partners to inform the development of this programme offer.
The contract award is made to GP Primary Choice Ltd. for the provision of Wrap Around Support and Recovery across North East Essex.
The contract term is 9 months, commencing 1st July 2023 and expiring on 31st March 2024, at a total aggregate Contract Value of £37,787.83 (excl. VAT).
The Authority is publishing this Contract Award Notice in the Contracts Finder in accordance with the Public Contracts Regulations 2015 (as amended by The Public Procurement (Amendment etc.) (EU Exit) Regulations 2020) for spend above £30,000.
