Description

Design, supply and fit-out of the kitchen for the restaurant cafe - National Horse Racing Museum, Newmarket

The National Heritage Centre for Horseracing and Sporting Art which opens in Newmarket in Autumn 2016 is the result of many years of planning and fundraising The Heritage Centre will be sited in the beautifully restored palace and stables built by Charles II in 1671 and will be much more than a museum....it is three attractions in one.....an art gallery which will be the permanent home of the British Sporting Art Collection...a much expanded Horseracing Museum....and a flagship for the Retraining of Racehorses charity where a string of ex racehorses can be seen learning new skills for a life after racing In keeping with this world class attraction, which will be a most important boost to the economy of both Newmarket and the region, will be a number of commercial enterprises which will be designed to appeal to both visitors to the Heritage Centre and the local community A large gift shop which will sell a wide range of products, many of them bespoke, and also feature work from regional artists and craftsmen and a restaurant café which will be run by our catering partners The Pantry. This will feature a modern British menu of local sourced food in an inside outside dining space within the central courtyard and will be open both during the day and in the evenings and it is our vision that this will become a destination in its own right. The Pantry are also launching a bakery in two of the newly restored loose boxes in the Kings Yard where they will bake and sell bread and cakes on the site We are now tendering for a catering contractor to design, supply and fit-out of the kitchen for the restaurant cafe
