Description

Test Valley Borough Council are looking to appoint a consultant to undertake a nitrate mitigation assessment on a 15.5Ha mixed arable / grazed site south of Andover, which the Council is in the process of purchasing. The future use of the site, subject to final purchase and planning permission, is habitat creation and recreation in the form of an informal country park. As an additional consideration for the purchase the Council also wishes to investigate the potential of the site to deliver nitrate mitigation.

The consultant will be expected to use their experience to assess the existing level of nitrates for the site; the scale of nitrate mitigation arising from the proposed change of use; and when such credits may become available. This would require the ability to undertake a study of hydrology, geology and the topography of the site. The Council anticipates that this will be a desk based study.
