Description
The London Borough of Newham (LBN) is inviting expressions of interest in the upcoming procurement of maintenance and repair of medical equipment. The equipment is held by the Council's (0-19) years Children's Health service.
Equipment within scope of this procurement is expected to include:
- A variety of medical scales encompassing stock from a variety of manufacturers
- Height measures
- Apnoea monitors
The tender period is planned to start in January 2018 with the contract scheduled to start in March 2018. Bids will be evaluated on a 70% price, 30% quality weighting.
The contract will be for initial period of 2 years with a possibility to extend for 2 years subjected to grant availability and council discretion.
The Council intends to undertake market engagement with potential suppliers. Kindly refer to the market engagement questions below.

Market engagement questions:
1) The Council intends to request providers to structure their pricing for the purposes of the Request for Quote in the following way:
a) All inclusive hourly rate for planned / preventative maintenance
b) All inclusive hourly rate for reactive maintenance (ie - repair)
NB: the cost of replacement parts associated with reactive maintenance would be quoted for and charged separately where required
Q: Is this pricing structure in line with the way providers in the market operate?

2) The Council intends to cap the all inclusive hourly rate at £50 per hour.

a) Planned / preventative maintenance to be completed within 5 working days of the Council submitting a request
