We are seeking input from the market to gauge the level of interest in participating in a contract(s) for the delivery of
the Commonwealth Games Traffic Management for the Games Route Network (GRN) and Local Area Traffic
Management and Parking (LATMP).
The works that are anticipated are listed below. The list is not exhaustive and is the current estimate of what may
be required.
Provision of Traffic Management Stewards approved to install and maintain traffic management schemes
for event purposes on both high and low speed roads
Provision of Community Safety Accredited Scheme (CSAS) staff to direct traffic at Vehicle Checkpoints
To implement and manage all traffic management plans for allocated venues and the GRN associated
with the Commonwealth Games
To deploy all staff and signing in accordance with an event timetable
To provide all vehicles necessary to deploy both staff and signing for each venue
To either provide all associated Chapter 8 signing/coning or to deploy from a dedicated supply for each
venue
To provide communications necessary to manage the secure line at each venue plus the authorisation of
all access protocols associated with a vehicle permit scheme
Manage venue access in accordance with vehicle permit system
This exercise will provide the authority with an insight into the preferred approach potential providers may take to
deliver the service and the level of interest in this opportunity.
Potential bidders will not be prejudiced by any response, failure to respond or attendance at face-to-face
interviews.
Potential bidders must also note that a response to this Market Sounding does not guarantee an invitation to
participate in this or any future procurement that the West Midlands Combined Authority may conduct or that the
Authority will procure any such supply and services or accepts any proposals offered. Any procurement of the
supply and services would be carried out strictly in accordance with the Public Contracts Regulations 2016.
