Description

Construction work for buildings relating to exhibitions. National Maritime Museum is seeking an experienced contractor to work with our external designer, to fabricate and install a semi-permanent wall in the Special Exhibitions Gallery (SEG) at the National Maritime Museum.

Contractors will need to have a proven track record of:
-Capacity
-Turnover of at least £1m
-Relevant experience in a museum

The design of the SEG semi-permanent wall is by Simon Andreanoff, of Free Practise, and will create a designated storage area within the SEG whilst maintaining access to the SEG transit room and fire exit.
The wall needs to be completed by 10 May 2019

The contracting authority considers that this contract may be suitable for economic operators that are small or medium enterprises (SMEs). However, any selection of tenderers will be based solely on the criteria set out for the procurement. The appointed contractor will be responsible for the construction and installation of the semi-permanent wall.

When submitting your expression of interest, please submit proof that you meet the criteria as outlined below:

Company turnover - please provide audited balance sheets for the last 3 years to demonstrate the soundness of the company's financial position.
Relevant experience - Experience as principal contractor on a museum exhibition build, in at least 3 contracts within the last 3 years.

Each contract should have had a value in comparison or upwards of approximately £50,000 and been successfully completed. These projects must have been similar to the proposed works and preferably undertaken at National Museums.

Capacity - The Tenderer is required to demonstrate that it has adequate resources and capacity net of current commitments (included receipt of letters intent) and works in progress to ensure it can satisfactorily perform the contract that is the subject of this tender.
