Description

The Authority sought to set up a Framework Agreement to offer this service to departments (including
arm's length bodies), local government and internationally through the Foreign and Commonwealth Office
(FCO).
The Infrastructure and Projects Authority, formed on 1 January 2016, brings together Infrastructure UK
(IUK) and the Major Projects Authority (MPA). The Framework Agreement is a true collaboration of
the best professionals to bring a quality service to improve the delivery of projects and programmes both
in the UK and internationally. The Authority looked for partners through the Framework to contribute
to expanding the scope and application of the tool with the emphasis being on improved outcomes.
The Authority's role will be to oversee the use and support directly where there are projects and HM
Government priorities. The structure and award mechanism of the Framework Agreement and commercial
model underpinning it should incentive Suppliers on the Framework Agreement to grow and develop the
tool in order to maximise opportunities for implementation.
The Authority brings together expertise in infrastructure and the financing, delivery and assurance of major
projects as a single unit, reporting to the Chancellor and the Minister for the Cabinet Office it supports
infrastructure and project development and delivery across the whole of Government.
