The National Security Science and Research (NSSR) division within the Department for Transport (DfT) is looking to enhance the efficiency of delivery, innovation and resilience of research outcomes by exploring the possibility of investing in a new contracting arrangement and would welcome comments/observations from suppliers who operate in the Science and Research sector.

We are publishing this Prior Information Notice (PIN) seeking feedback from suppliers to establish the current capabilities, capacities and appetite of the market in relation to:

Behavioural Science
Canine
Counter-Unmanned Aerial Systems
Systems and Analysis
Bulk Detection
Vulnerability
Programme Management Services in Benefits Realisation and Communications and;
Future of Aviation Security Solutions and Innovations.

This Early Engagement is intended to:

Explore what suppliers are present in this sector, who they work with and how services are/can be delivered

Obtain views and advice on the future delivery of this sector

Obtain considerations and feedback on how and when work can be delivered, including if there is appetite to work with the DfT

Next Steps:

Suppliers who are able to offer advice/solutions relevant to this requirement are invited to respond to complete the Supplier Questionnaire which can be found on https://dft.app.jaggaer.com/web/login.html - the project is titled NSSR Market Engagement, under PQQ.

Suppliers are asked to submit it via the Jaggaer system and complete the PQQ that is on the DfT Jaggaer website, by 14th July 2021.

This builds on the NSSR commitment to engage and seek input from suppliers. This market analysis will better inform our next steps and input into the justification of any future sourcing models.

Following the collation of all responses, we plan to host a market event to discuss our proposed solution and subsequent next steps.

All responses will be treated as confidential.
