Description

This is advance notice of an opportunity to design and deliver a training programme for education, health, and social care workforces across Dorset; that raises awareness of autism, builds people's knowledge and confidence of being able to adapt their behaviour and the surroundings and provide an environment for autistic people to feel included, welcomed, understood, and supported.

In Dorset we plan to offer training to the whole workforce which aims to use the national training framework to develop a co-produced and co-delivered learning and development pathway. The work is being done in collaboration with Dorset Clinical Commissioning Group (Dorset CCG), Dorset NHS, BCP Council, Dorset Council, Parent Carer Forums, and a wider stakeholder group.

It will span the workforce we aim to reach which is diverse and wide-ranging and represents people employed by Bournemouth, Christchurch, and Poole (BCP) Council, Dorset Council (DC), NHS Dorset, Dorset Healthcare, primary care, community mental health teams, care and support providers and education. It also spans across children and adults' services and the voluntary and community sector.

The programme will be offered to all education, health, and social workers first and then more widely to people who work in the wider community, such as public transport, hospitality, leisure, criminal justice system, voluntary sector and parents/carers. There may also be an opportunity to share the basic awareness training with private sector businesses and social enterprises after the first phase of the roll out.

Bidders are requested NOT to respond to this notice as the opportunity to provide a quote for the work will be made available late August/September 2021 via https://www.supplyingthesouthwest.org.uk/ In the meantime, further details may be obtained from Dorset Council's Strategic Commissioning Lead, karen.stephens@dorsetcc.gov.uk or the CCG's Programme Lead for Learning and Disability, laura.white@dorsetccg.nhs.uk
