Description

Providers are invited to tender for any of the above Extra Care Schemes Extra care housing is defined as specialist accommodation designed to maximise the independence of older people by providing a safe, secure and stimulating environment. Service Users retain the independence of having their own home and at the same time benefit from the availability of around the clock social care and housing support. The care and support services provided within Extra care housing schemes should be personalised to meet the needs and choices of the individual, with a focus on supporting the Service Users to achieve outcomes and goals that are most important to them. The service is expected to enable Service Users to live independently and to maximise the Service Users capacity to carry out tasks themselves. The service will align with the County Council's strategic priorities of: supporting and protecting vulnerable people when they need it most; helping people live healthy and independent lives in their communities. The Cambridgeshire Health and Wellbeing Strategy sets out key priorities and the service will help towards the following priorities: support older people to be independent, safe and well; encourage healthy lifestyles and behaviours in all actions and activities while respecting people's personal choices; work together effectively.
