Description

The requirement is to renew software support for the IBM software product used by the STFC SCD called Spectrum LSF for the period of one year.

The IBM Spectrum LSF software (previously called Platform LSF) has been annually purchased and upgraded over a number of years.

We have a very large (~10,000 license units) deployment of Spectrum LSF at STFC RAL and it is a key part of high profile National and world leading computing infrastructures that SCD runs for multiple services.

Without continued support and upgrade for the software asset we've purchased over the previous years we will lose the value of a significant asset impacting the science capability and STFC's reputation for supporting national computing facilities.

Included in this specification is:
• Access to documentation is provided electronically under the support agreement.
• The registration of the support contract with IBM is required to be renewed by 1st April
• Direct access to IBM software support is required to provide access to new software versions and the right to raise technical support queries.
