Description
Arden & GEM CSU on behalf of Wolverhampton CCG were seeking expressions of interest from suitably qualified providers for a provision of Nursing Home Placements for Patients qualifying for NHS Continuing Healthcare (CHC) service.
The service is being commissioned using the Any Qualified Provider process. The base tariffs are:
EMI £725/week
Mental Health £700/week
Physical Disabilities £700/week
It should be noted that under the Any Qualified Provider model, there are no guarantees of volume or payment in the contracts awarded. Selection of who will provide the service to the patient is made by the patient.
This was the Third Window. The qualification period for the AQP accreditation was for the remainder of the initial 3 year period from the 01st February 2018.
The CCG may open up additional qualification rounds during the accreditation period. Should there be any geographical areas within the CCG area where further choice of provider is required; the CCG reserves the right to limit the next accreditation round to specific geographical areas only.
All potential providers who wished to express an interest in the
service were required to complete an accreditation questionnaire. Wolverhampton CCG assessed the responses to the accreditation questionnaire to determine whether a provider is sufficiently qualified to provide the service specified in the Service Specification contained within the Accreditation documentation. All providers who met the required minimum quality criteria, who accepted the NHS Standard Contract Terms and who accepted the Specification and the Tariff for the service set by the Wolverhampton CCG were offered a contract.
Applications were accepted from all organisation types including sole provider, consortia, partnership, lead provider etc. In securing services from Providers, the CCGs needs assurance of competence, quality and safety standards, just as it would for services secured under a formal tender process. Any provider would be eligible to
join a list of qualified providers subject to demonstrating competency against the Authority's specified criteria. The list was open to new entrants to the market, subject to assessment. The successful provider(s) are required to sign the standard NHS Contract, accepting all terms and conditions.
