Description
Nottinghamshire County Council (the Council) is seeking tenders, on behalf of Ashfield District Council (ADC) ,
The Council is developing an Automated Distribution and Manufacturing Centre (ADMC) using money from Towns Fund.
The site is off Lowmoor Road, opposite Sutton Parkway railway station and well connected to the A38 and M1. Currently a greenfield site but being designated for employment use in new Local Plan (about to launch Reg19 consultation). The site is included in the draft consultation document on revised Local Plan at present, and it is envisaged that it will be adopted later in 2024. This process however does not affect the planning and masterplan approvals for either ADMC or AITP.
The development of AITP is a unique opportunity bring new and skilled jobs to the area, linked to the council's flagship £30 million development of Automated Distribution & Manufacturing Centre (ADMC) and some of the existing businesses in the district on this location. The site has over 30 acres of net commercial development land., with additional 2 acres allocated for ADMC.
The Council now needs to prepare a masterplan or framework which provides a mixture of commercial opportunity plus the spatial layout and design to guide the council through to outline planning approval for AITP, including infrastructure plans and commercial development strategy.
