Description

This notice is to inform providers of a marketing event that will take place on the morning of Thursday 24th March 2016 at the Holiday Inn in Taunton, in relation to the re-procurement of services described within this notice.

Further details regarding the venue and times will be issued to providers once they have expressed an interest and registered their details. For joining instructions please see 'Other Information' section below.

NHS England South (South Central) and (South West) would like to invite interested providers to the marketing event regarding the provision of outcome focused primary healthcare services across prisons and an Immigration Referral Centre within two regions - Dorset and Devon. Provision of services will be in-house including physical health, mental health, substance misuse services and dental services.

The procurement is likely to consist of 2 regional lots and include the establishments below:

1. Dorset
- HMP (YOI) Portland, Young Offender Institute
- HMP Guys Marsh
- IRC, The Verne - Immigration Referral centre

2. Devon
- HMP Channing's Wood
A Male Category C Adult Training prison with an Operational Capacity of 731
- HMP Dartmoor
A Male Category C Adult Training prison with an Operational Capacity of 640
- HMP Exeter
A Male category B Local prison with an Operational Capacity of 561

The expected service commencement date for the Devon prisons will be 1st April 2017.
The expected service commencement date for the Dorset establishments will be 1st February 2017.

Contract duration will be for 5 years (for both lots/regions) and will be a standard Alternative Provider Medical Services Contract (APMS) contract and Personal Dental Services (PDS) contract.

The bid opportunity and procurement process is likely to be advertised formally in April / May 2016. This procurement is being carried out by NHS South, Central & West Commissioning Support Unit (SCWCSU) on behalf of the Commissioners.

Previous early engagement notices have been published separately for each region with a request for interested providers to complete a provider sounding questionnaire. If you are interested and have not previously returned a questionnaire then please complete the attached and return by 12:00pm on Thursday 17th March. (If you have already completed one there is no need to do so again).

It will be an opportunity to find out more about the service requirements, the procurement process and to ask any questions you might have before the formal procurement process commences.
