Description

Open future opportunity - This means that the buyer is not yet ready to invite bid applications but early notification has been provided and some dialogue may be possible.

The Coal Authority was established by Parliament to undertake specific statutory duties, set out in the Coal Industry Act 1994, associated with licensing coal mining operations; managing property and the historic legacy arising from the ownership of the coal reserves and underground workings; settling subsidence damage claims not falling on coal mine operators and providing access to coal mining information.

In addition The Coal Authority supports the Environment Agency in its work to protect and improve the environment in England and Wales with particular regard to metal mining legacy.

We require an aerial hyperspectral and thermal data survey to assist us in completing a detailed mineralogical and structural analysis of an area of mining legacy in the vicinity of The Coniston Copper Mine.
This Prior Information Notice is to advise the market of a forthcoming procurement opportunity and providers do not need to express an interest at this time.

A further Contract Notice will be issued as a call for competition; this is expected to be published on or after 28 February 2018.

When the tender is issued to market, the procurement documents will be published via the Coal Authority's tendering portal.
