Description
Birmingham & Solihull Youth Promise Plus (YPP) is a significant project which aims to create continuous person-centred support for young people aged 15-29 years as part of a seamless progression into education, or training or sustainable employment. In its first phase between April 2016 and July 2018, the YPP project supported around 13,000 young people assisting over 4,200 of these participants into positive Education, Training or Employment outcomes. The Council and its YPP partners are now commencing an extended phase of project delivery which will run up to October 2021, and as part of this, the Council is now seeking to commission the delivery of P0607 Specialist wrap around service for young people with mental health support needs.
The contract will commence in 1st April 2020 for a period of 18 months with formal reviews every six months, and an option to extend for up to 6 months subject to performance and funding availability.
This Contract will provide a mental health service to deliver flexible wrap around support services to young people on the YPP programme who have additional mental health support needs. The provider is required to work with, and support NEET (unemployed and economically inactive) young people (15-29) with identified mental health needs who have been referred by other YPP providers. They will work with participants referred by other YPP providers and also support Intervention Workers within the \"Specialist provision for young people with significant barriers\" contract who are assigned to work round personalised action plans with these participants. The provider is also required to actively offer the service within the YPP family of partners and providers. The overall aim is to progress young people into positive outcomes including further education, training and ultimately sustainable employment.
