Description

The University of Southampton is currently finalising the fitup of a new towing tank in the Boldrewood Innovation Campus. This facility will be used to perform hydrodynamics experiments on ships, autonomous vehicles and various floating devices.

In order to expand the capacities to this towing tank to the offshore and renewable energy markets, the University wished to acquire an underwater lifting platform for the tank.

This platform will have dimensions of approximately 6 m x 2 m and will be permanently mounted to the bottom of the tank at 3.5 m depth.
Floating models will be attached to this platform's floor and be tested in various waves conditions.
