A rapid evidence assessment, with systematic evaluation and appraisal of peer reviewed and grey literature, with an emphasis on field studies, will be used to investigate the assess the merits, trade-offs, and wider impacts of biochar in a UK context. An initial inception meeting will be held to agree the scope of the evidence review, the work should critically assess and build on other recent reviews.
