Description

On behalf of Bedford Borough Council, we would like to invite organisations to attend a Market Engagement meeting about Minor Highways Works.
The Minor Highway Works contract will be used to deliver the following, but not limited to:
o Control of noise and vibration
o Setting out and existing ground levels
o Traffic Safety and Management
o Temporary Diversions for Traffic
o Routeing of Vehicles
o Retention of Materials Arising from Site Clearance
o Drainage Requirements
o Requirements for Excavation, Deposition, Compaction (other than dynamic compaction)
o Topsoil, Grassing and Seeding
o Permitted Pavement Options
o Excavation, Trimming and Reinstatement of Existing Surfaces
o Bond Coats, Tack Coats and other Bituminous Sprays
o Cold-milling (planing) of Bituminous Bound Flexible Pavement
o Overband and Inlaid Crack Systems
o Kerbs, Footways and Paved Areas
o Traffic Signs: Road Markings & Studs
o Ancillary Concrete

As part of our pre-tender preparation, we would like to take the opportunity to engage with organisations to enable us to fully understand the market and possible solutions to assist the Councils in shaping a future procurement exercise. The Council are keen to produce a tender that is commercially attractive to a wide range of suppliers, whilst also delivering on key priorities.
We would be really pleased to meet with organisations to discuss materials, contract length, fee mechanisms. A list of discussion points will be provided to all companies before the meeting including a summary of the current services provided.
Companies who are interested in taking part in this market engagement exercise, are required to send a message via correspondence in the In-Tend portal by 12 noon on Wednesday 20th December 2023.
Meeting slots through MS Teams will then be offered to those companies expressing an interest.
Meetings will be held virtually via MS teams and separate slots will be provided to each interested company and will last approximately one hour. Meetings will be attended by senior staff members representing the service area and a senior member of staff from the Council's Strategic Commissioning and Procurement team.
