Description
The design and construction for temporary education facilities for Hope Community School, Southampton, on behalf of the Education Funding Agency (EFA), at the site of Central Hall, Southampton for completion by August 2017.
Works are required to an existing community and events building to provide temporary accommodation for a new Free School (Hope Community School) in Southampton.
The proposed works include the remodelling of existing storage and office spaces to provide temporary accommodation for a total of 120 pupils within an existing community and events centre. These works include:
- Reconfiguration including minor structural alterations and light refurbishment of internal layouts.
- Installation/reconfiguration for new toilet block
- Associated works to modify the mechanical and electrical systems, (lighting, fire alarm, heating, access control) to be inline with the new reconfigured floor plate layouts
- External works to create secure outside pupil play space and introduction of new access to the building.
The principal contractor will be appointed on a D&B basis and responsible for progressing all survey and design development based on specifications and indicative outline design. The proposed form of contract is the JCT 2011 Intermediate Building Contract with Contractor's Design (ICD), with EFA standard amendments.
The final appointment of the contractor will be on the basis of the criteria to be published in the tender documents.
The tender documents will be available on 4th April 2017, with tender returns due by 12 noon on 28 April 2017.
