Description
South Somerset District Council is inviting tenders for the first phase of an exciting project to extend and refurbish Yeovil Crematorium. Initially we are seeking fee proposals for the Architectural Design work and the role of Principal Designer. Project Outline
The proposed scheme would provide a new chapel, a new waiting room (by converting the old chapel) and other improved facilities with the aim of providing a first class facility for Yeovil. The basic works will include;
The building of a new chapel to accommodate 160 people and associated grounds work/landscaping
The conversion of the old chapel into a new waiting room and the creation of a second smaller chapel
Internal alterations to provide new passageways etc within existing buildings, and a redesigned entrance.
The redesign of the Cloisters area with the removal of the ponds and other improved landscaping.
Improvements to the façade of the existing buildings
Possible relocation of the Chapel of Remembrance
