Description
The aim of 'SmartBasing - Access Control' is to automate pass issue and control of entry at 83 Army entry points over a period of six years, with six pilot sites scheduled to commence during the first year of the project. The project will improve the lived experience for site users, reduce the standing commitment for guarding at gates, improve the accountability and assurance of access, and maintain at least the current level of site security. The Authority seeks to achieve this by installing an integrated system using technology, including automated vehicle barriers, security gates, CCTV, ANPR and pass readers. This will allow authorised users to access sites efficiently and securely.
Early investigation has confirmed that the infrastructure changes required are realistic and that the technology widely exists (and is in use with our allies and across Government).
The Home Command Project Team will host a Market Interest Event as detailed below:
- Date: 24 Apr 24
- Time: 1030-1230hrs GMT
- Format: Virtual via MS Teams
The event will be a virtual session hosted on MS Teams. Attendance is limited to two (2) persons per organisation. All presentational material as well as questions and answers will be captured and made available to
attendees after the event through the DSP. Following the Market Interest event, the Authority intends
to invite all interested suppliers (via separate notice through the DSP) to partake in a Request for Information (RFI).
The aim of the Market Interest Event is to provide attendees with an overview of the SmartBasing - Access Control project and its scope.
Please provide expression of interest in attending by 15 Apr 24. An invitation will then be sent by 19 Apr 24.
