Description

Reading Borough Council is seeking an experienced Contractor to undertake its annual Winter Maintenance Programme on the public highway, excluding motorways and trunk roads, within the administrative boundary of the Council.

The contract will involve the provision of winter maintenance services, including precautionary and post salting on scheduled routes, along with spot salting, snow clearance and the installation and maintenance of salt bins.

The appointed contractor will be required to supply their own equipment, materials and facilities including gritting vehicles, snowploughs, supply of road salt and the provision of an appropriate base depot equipped for the storage and distribution of road salt materials.

This Contract will be for an initial 36 month period, with an option to extend by a further 36 months, subject to performance.
