Description

Carriageway widening works to accommodate a new Mass Rapid Transport (MRT) bus lane and associated and proposed footway / cycleways on the A33 in Reading. Works include but is not limited to steel sheet pile retaining structures, road construction, alterations to the surface water drainage, street lighting, traffic signals, statutory utilities diversions, road restraint systems and a new northbound bus stop lay-by.

The Works also cover Traffic Signal upgrade works at the A33 Island Road Junction and A33 Bennet Road Junction.

The works also include the relocation of a northbound bus lane (from the right lane to the left lane) and the addition of a southbound bus stop on the A33 near the M4 Junction 11 (Little Lea).
