Description
NHS England South (South West) is in a position to procure additional Units of Dental Activity (UDAs) for patients living in and around the Redland area of Bristol and up to a 1 kilometre radius from the current practice location.
The additional activity is required from April 1st 2017.
NHS England is looking to procure up to 6,000 UDAs per annum within a 1 kilometre radius of BS6 6RJ.
6,000 UDAs equates to approximately 2,800 patients (based on the AT average of 2.2 UDAs per patient).
UDAs will be offered at a fixed price of £25.20 per UDA which is non-negotiable.
The service specification works in relation to and not instead of the NHS (General Dental Services /Personal Dental Services Contracts) Regulations 2005.
NHS England is able to consider bids for all or part of the number of UDAs available. The minimum number of UDAs that will be considered is 1000. However, it is the intention of NHS England to award contract(s) as close to 6000 UDAs as possible.
It is expected that any successful bidder will be able to immediately accept new patients, and provide continuity of NHS dental care for those patients that have been displaced following the cessation.
The successful bidder will also be required to work closely with the Commissioning team in order to co-ordinate patient access to these new NHS places.
The Commissioner will be contracting for the Services using the standard General Dental Services (GDS) or Personal Dental Services (PDS) Contract.
For existing providers this will be an extension to their GDS or PDS Contract. For new Providers services will be contracted using a GDS Contract. Contract duration will depend on the contract type & could therefore have no time limit.
