Description

Health Education England are putting out this notice as a PIN (Prior Information Notice) with a view to completing a Direct Award to Birmingham City University.

The case for direct award can be found on the tender portal.

HEE commissioned 2 suppliers, to deliver an innovative and flexible On-Line RtP Programme to support HEE Health & Care Professions Council returners to meet the minimum requirements of the HCPC RtP standards.
Birmingham City University (BCU) were one of the successful bidders.
As part of the initial commission, BCU were required to recruit and support 50 returners and support them to meet the minimum criteria set out by the HCPC to return to the register. They anticipate reaching this threshold by December 2022 because of a 10 further enquires in the last two weeks.
Deliverables
The specific deliverables of the award are as follows.
• A further 20 AHP Returners to the NHS
Rationale for selection of supplier
HEE considers that it is highly unlikely for any other supplier to be able to provide the expertise provided by the BCU as a current supplier for the following reasons:
• The BCU have a committed high-quality programme for Return to Practice established
• The BCU has a track record of constructive engagement with activities to develop Allied Health Professionals as returners to the NHS and constructive engagement with public bodies including NHS England, Public Health England and HEE.
• The BCU have experienced Clinicians in developing and delivering the curricula to ensure relevance to current practice, incorporates problem based learning and up-to-date evidence-based teaching methods.
