Description
ITT for Provision of an Occupational Health Physician
The Authority wishes to invite interested parties ("Suppliers") to participate in a tender exercise to establish a Contract for the Provision of Occupational Health Physician.
The suitably qualified and experienced provider of an Occupational Health Physician will be required to provide the services described in the Tender Specification via the in-house Occupational Health Unit.
The Occupational Health Unit is comprised of an Occupational Health Physician, Occupational Health Nurse Advisors, Physiotherapists and a Business Support Team. The service is managed by the Occupational Health Business Manager on a day to day basis and provides a service to the Authority's employees and a range of Public Sector partners, totalling in the region of 10,000 individuals working across a wide range of trades and professions; including manual and administrative services.
The Occupational Health Unit plays a vital role in advising managers and employees in relation to health matters. The Physician service is a key component of the medical team.
The provision of Physician services will be delivered working alongside the multidisciplinary Occupational Health team employed by the Authority at: The Regional Business Centre, 1 Providence Place, West Bromwich, West Midlands, B70 8SZ.
Where a medical opinion is required upon a specific workplace issue some visits may be necessary. These will be within the borough of Sandwell.
The Contract will be for two years from the commencement date which shall be 1 October 2017 with a possible extension of a further year, subject to satisfactory performance.
