Description

Procurement of the Luna SA7 high security modules, to replace the Luna SA5 units, which will reach end of life in September 2022. This requirement has been competed via CCS TPAS framework - Lot 1 Hardware & Associated Services. The HSMs securely hold the cryptographic keys that underpin all authentication and secure communications to/from the NHS spine. The keys are used to create digital certificates that are then used on all NHS smartcards and by every spine connected system to grant access and provide encryption. The current HSMs are due to go end of life in September and are a part of a platinum service provided by the NHS PKI.
