Description

Taylor Wimpey (the Client), as part of a new residential development in Northallerton, are to provide a road linking two housing developments one by Taylor Wimpey (TW) and the other by Persimmon Homes (PH). This link road crosses a Network Rail (NR) owned railway line. It is the bridge aspect of this link road that this procurement is to cover. The majority of the works have been fully designed by Aecom, however the following elements are to be designed by the Contractor:

• Vehicle restraint systems including transitions and structures
• Permanent Formwork
• Bridge Bearings
• Expansion Joints
• Lighting Columns

Further details of these requirements can be found in Appendix1/11 of the Specification Appendices - 0100 Preliminaries. The works are being undertaken under a Three-Party Overbridge Agreement; made between Network Rail, North Yorkshire County Council and Taylor Wimpey and Persimmon Homes. The contract will be delivered under a Section S38 agreement and the Three-Party Overbridge Agreement, the Conditions of Contract are the core clauses and the clauses for main Option A dispute resolution Option W2 and Secondary Options X4, X7, X13, and X16 of the NEC4 Engineering and Construction Contract June 2017.
