Description
Provision of a Discovery phase for the Application Remediation project on a Service basis.
Within DWP there are several UDATs (User Developed Applications and Tools) that have been developed by Business Users in MS Access/Excel using VBA Macros.
There are currently 565 UDATs that are still in use.
Within DWP a product called CITRIX Explorer is used to allow Users with Cloud First Devices to access UDATs stored on Legacy Filestore e.g. Shared Folders.
At the moment use of CITRIX to access UDATs is a blocker.
One option would be to move the UDATs to Cloud Based Filestore such as Azure Files.
DWP therefore need to run a Discovery Phase to identify how many of the 565 UDATs are dependent upon CITRIX for access, and also to confirm how many would be viable candidates to move to Azure Files and the effort/cost involved to complete that exercise and what remediation would potentially be needed to ensure the UDATs performed when hosted in Azure Files.
