Description

ITT067 - Provision of a Nursing Enhanced Assessment/Discharge to Assess Beds Service

The Metropolitan Borough of Sandwell wishes to appoint a Contractor(s) to provide 22 Nursing Enhanced Assessment/ Discharge to Assess Beds to be provided in nursing home(s) that are registered with the Care Quality Commission and which are within the borough of Sandwell.

For the provision of these services, 22 nursing Enhanced Assessment/ Discharge to Assess Beds are required, with these being broken down into 10 and 12 beds per Service. A Service containing a smaller volume of beds will be considered subject to it being a minimum of 5.

Tenderers can bid for any Service. Where the maximum number of beds (10 or 12) is bid for, but they cannot be offered at the start of the contract, a phased start will be considered. All beds should be available as at 1 February 2019.

The Services will provide a 24-hour, 7 days a week bed based nursing enhanced assessment / discharge to assess service for people whose assessed level of need can be safely and effectively provided outside of an acute hospital, and which may not be appropriately met within the person's own home / usual place of residence.

The Service will accept patients from acute and non acute hospital settings to facilitate timely hospital discharge which will include SWBH, City Hospital, Queen Elizabeth, Russell's Hall, Manor, Leasowes Intermediate Care, Rowley Hospital, and Edward Street Hospital.

Tenderers should note that the Council has a set bed rate of £675 per bed per week.

The duration of the contracts will be 2 years from 1 October 2018, with an option to agree an extension of the agreement for an additional one (1) year.
